Spring is in the air
Spring is definitely in the air - I can smell it and it’s wonderful. Spring is an important time to remember that whilst we can find change hard, it’s also constant, and can be positive.
Being reminded of roots
This week I visited Llanddwyn beach. What really struck me was the landscape and the way the forest meets the beach, with trees growing right in the sand dunes it seemed.
Learning from my students
We’ve now had ten classes of the new Yoga for All accessible classes in Old Colwyn and I’m very much enjoying teaching them. I’m loving seeing the students develop, and what they do and don’t enjoy, celebrating their successes and joining in the laughter.
Is fragility actually strength?
What we often see as our own fragility, may actually be our strength. They come hand in hand and through yoga we can understand our fragilities and find our strength.
Focussing in on the small detail
This week I’m continuing with the theme of being present in activities and focussing on small details.
Finding new ways to be present
This last week I’ve not been feeling on top form and so have been taking it a bit easier. I found a colour by numbers app and got right into it. All in all I’ve been finding enjoyment in the concentration at a time when my head’s been feeling foggy.
Returning to work
Returning to work after a two week break has started me thinking about how we look after ourselves through the day. It’s a theme I keep coming back to.
My seasonal gift to you
As the year winds down, we often find ourselves busier than ever, rather than winding down ourselves. Find out my top tips for de-stressing over the festive season and try a short breathing exercise.
Making yoga accessible
One of the things I’m passionate about is how yoga can help people be in their best shape, whatever that means for them, both physically and mentally. I’m starting up accessible yoga classes in Old Colwyn in January.
What I’ve learnt from trying to fix things.
I’ve had a bit of an equipment fail - or more accurately I’ve failed my equipment! Fortunately, I could laugh about the absurdity of the situation. Once I had more time to reflect, I started thinking about what I’ve learnt from this and how it can help me in my teaching.
